Maison Bernachon is a family story born in Lyon and has become an iconic chocolate factory ! It is above all, knowledge and expertise transmitted from generation to generation. The story begins in 1953, when Maurice Bernachon aims to transform raw cocoa beans into chocolate.

WEDDING OF JEAN-JACQUES BERNACHON AND FRANÇOISE BOCUSE
Jean-Jacques Bernachon was born on October 27, 1944.
In 1966, Jean Jacques left to work in Amsterdam for six months with Bensdorp, then, in 1968, we found him in Paul Bocuse's brigade. It was on June 19, 1969 that the marriage of Françoise Bocuse and Jean-Jacques Bernachon was celebrated.
CREATION OF THE “PRESIDENT”
THE PRESIDENT'S STORY
The “President”, the most famous cake from Maison Bernachon, is a real creation, with a singular origin. Indeed, in February 1975, Paul Bocuse was to receive the Legion of Honor from the hands of President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing.
For this great occasion, Maurice Bernachon and Paul Bocuse wish to arrive at the Elysée with a never-seen-beforedelicacy. It will be the “President”, specially created for the occasion (the 1st one, madefor 20 people weighed 3 kg!).
40 years later, the "President" still thrills gourmets from around the world.

In this place adjacent to the shop, a clientele of connoisseurs can enjoy delicious mealssimmered in the tradition of the house, the Lyonnaise tradition. Veal liver and fish, in particular, are a delight.

Very quickly, the Bernachon house became the prestigious chocolate factory of the City of Lyon. Its reputation even extends abroad, prompting articles in the New York Times and collaborations in Japan, for example.

Created by Maurice Bernachon in 1953, the chocolate factory celebrates its 70th anniversary! On this occasion, we have created new products to thank our loyal customers.
A chocolate bar specially designed for the 70 years of the house, made of dark chocolate, praline, caramel and peanuts. Sold in a beautifulreusable case.
